Consumers for Dental Choice is leading the charge against dental mercury. But to win, we need action in communities across the nation and around the world. Here’s what you can do to help stop dental mercury:
Choose mercury-free fillings: Always choose mercury-free fillings for yourself and your children. Make sure to tell your dentist that you do not want mercury fillings in your mouth – or in your community’s environment.
Write the FDA: Despite mercury’s known toxicity, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has failed to take decisive action to protect children and unborn babies from amalgam – even though FDA’s own scientific advisory panel concluded that amalgam is not safe for their developing neurological systems, which are most susceptible to mercury’s neurotoxic effects. Contact the Director for Devices and Radiological Health, Dr. Jeff Shuren, to let him know that endangering our children is not acceptable.
